- A financial hub that serves clients outside the jurisdiction of the domestic economy is known as an IFSC.
- The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), a statutory body created by the International Financial Services Centres Authority Act, 2019, oversees the IFSC in India.
- Its main office is located in Gujarat’s GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
- The GIFT IFSC is currently India’s first IFSC.
- All IFSC transactions (except from INR) must be made in foreign currencies. On the other hand, statutory and administrative costs may be paid in Indian rupees.
